It's been decades of new fans saying "K-pop fans are more conservative than I thought" on like actual LGBTQ+ idols or corporate corruption or anything problematic their idols do. They're "progressive" for moral police reasons, that's it.

Once you realize K-pop stans are performative about like 99% of their beliefs, it becomes a lot easier just to tune a lot of their bullshit out.

I wish I spoke Spanish. I wish I knew more about my Mexican roots. I wish I grew up more in tune with my Mexican side and not with a dad who valued American culture and white people over his own
