Peace only under liberty (and justice, civic duty, and science). We are no longer asking.

If you just sit back and wait for incumbents to get primaried, the first people that are gonna seize the initiative are the types who care less about strengthening a functional cosmopolitan democracy and more about their own careers.

RW reactionaries, media heads, and their billionaire puppeteers really just shook hands and said “this democracy thing is giving too many rights to the plebs” and they decided to cash in on a narcissistic fascist-colored moron. Says a lot about their beliefs, or lack thereof.

Oh of course, Captain America is a traitor to the cause because he didn’t become Red Guardian instead.

Idk, guys, maybe I’m a normielib imperialist or whatever, but I learned from Steve Rogers that “I don’t like bullies. I don’t care where they’re from.”

That applies to both Nazis and left-flavored internet clout-chasers.

Yeah, like obviously, trying to divine clear “intent” from people who put their morals second behind a carnal need to win arguments on the internet is always slightly frivolous for those of us who believe in things, but it’s a pretty disgusting coincidence nonetheless.

As long as history continues to change, and it will, the people who shape that history will always have choices.

(That feels like its from somewhere but I just thought of it)

Dems won big on Nov 4, and public opinion on Trump is approaching Bush 2007 levels, with most blaming him for the economy and shutdown.

This is a marathon, not a sprint. We still have to win people over to make a compelling case for Dem govt in 2029, and the cards are currently in our favor.

And ultimately what that means is that our *legal* options for stopping them are limited until (God willing) January 2029.

We have federal courts, lawsuits, protests, midterms and off-year elections until then. So we have to make those count.

Yeah, somebody said a while back that at least some of the current angst online is driven by a belated realization that Trump *won* last year and is therefore granted control over the *immense* power of the executive branch, and the supremacy clause + legitimacy advantages that come with it.
