the first time I saw it I was a little kid. pop took me to see it cause i loved star wars so much. i didn't really understand it but the fact that there was so little dialogue or action but so much happening fascinated me. Hell, i think i'm still basically at that same place with it, lol

in high school I'd tell my dad about my escapades (sans mention of acid, natch) when I'd stumble into the house at 2 or 3 am and wake him from slumbering through Skinamax. then when i was like 15 one night pop said he never wanted to know what I was up to again, cause it stressed him out lol

saw this one on acid in a theater too! and the sequel, though I didn't go to the nights when they played em back to back unfortunately, so i had to do that at home

absolute classic. looking back its wild to me that this was ever in "theaters" plural as like a release. Obviously there's no way AMC or Regal would do that today, so a national release would be near impossible. But even back then this was a bananas movie to get distributed.

ha I saw this in a theater in like 1988. on acid. as i recall they played a bunch of international animation, stop motion and puppet shorts before hand, so it was like a solid 4 hours of having my brains blown out of my ears by the awesome entering my eyes

yeah, i'm not one for those dumb "WE DRANK FROM HOSES" Gen X feels, but i will say the ability of the cops and your parents to track your every move is a thing that will make Gen Zers/Whatever the youngin youngins are called way different from us

that's a real bummer. I saw Fantasia at the old Uptown in DC twice on acid and then like a week later went back to see Blade Runner Director's Cut twice on acid.
Now that I think about it we went to a lot of movies tripping in the 80s. It helped make the Reagan era slightly more easy to live in
