Hugely enjoyed #AMidsummerNightsDream For One Night Only at Shakespeare's Globe. Terrific atmosphere despite downpours soaking the groundlings. Very funny with an unbelievably talented cast. Every play should have @sarahfinigan.bsky.social as the onstage prompt.

#BornWithTeeth preview at the Wyndhams tonight. Central premise fails to convince but it's witty, intelligent, irreverent, insightful & well-staged, with superb performances from Ncuti Gatwa & Edward Bluemel. A great evening out. Highly recommended.

A Man For All Seasons at the Harold Pinter Theatre tonight. Good to see that one of the best plays of the 20th century works as well on the stage as on the page. Good performances all round, led by Martin Shaw and Gary Wilmot. Strongly recommended.

1st preview of Goodnight, Oscar at Barbican Centre tonight. Thin plot with no real thesis, but a hugely enjoyable evening with good performances, lots of very funny jokes from Sean Hayes, & good staging. Rosalie Craig is flawless. Hugely recommended.

Final performance of The Fifth Step at Soho Place. Kept veering away from its premise, and while there was a story there was barely a plot. Nevertheless, it was very funny, with two good performances from Jack Lowden & Martin Freeman, both with superb comic timing.

Attended the preview screening of Bookish at the BFI this week. It's unoriginal, the premise doesn't work and there's a lot of exposition, but it's likeable, entertaining, looks great and Buket Kömür is quirkily wonderful.
