it's inherent in building any skill, really -- when you start, you think you're doing ok... then after a while you realize you're NOT great because your taste has gotten better... then you make progress adn feel good... then you realize you really AREN'T that great... lather, rinse, repeat

Absolutely. They look nothing alike. I DID once have a pair of siblings who WERE hard to tell apart, but their behavior was so different, that made it simple.

We're on antibiotic option #2 hoping to knock back the infection on her forehead tumor one more time. Such a bummer so many people will never get to love this particular perfected being with her inefficient heart, tiny body & yoga moves.

I can tell the relative level of peacefulness vs tribalism in my #clowder by how many cats are willing to share the bed. The number always goes up by one when it's colder. Mr Darcy (Kirei), over there, still considers himself a cut above the company, but he'll relax and make a friend at some point.

This cat can go from "I love you" to "I'll murder you" in ONE second. I saved him from barn-cat status after he hurt a 10 y/old boy. Now he's learning BETTER (pro-social) ways to deal with his big feelings. He knows the door leads to food and he knows the words "toy" and "in the box" ... 1/3

Couch time is when the wolf will lie down with the lamb and the leopard with the goat (aka the least social amongst the children all pile on mom).. It's worth it to them to be peaceful they know I'll keep them safe, even from each other. #operantconditioning #enlightenment

He DID bite our mini poodle once b/c Phil is a bullying little Napoleon. Their interactions get SUPERVISED. With cats, Vedek learned fast to "be nice" or "leave it."
Assertive vs gentle, competitive vs playful, survival (learning) mode vs pro-social (cooperating) mode... 2/
