And for the first time in 2025, the Doctors are IN.

A two-day Zeitgeist #school history #workshop in support of AQA's "Britain: Health and the People" syllabus.

Living the life 😊
Coffee with 'french milk' on the side in our favourite war museum (even though it's closed today). Perfect afternoon with @dawnmonksillustrations.co.uk

Packed with full-on, energetic activities to make sure that everyone kept warm - no standing around shivering on a Zeitgeist WWI UK Trench Experience Day!
WW1 medicine, life in the trenches, firing blanks, bayonet fencing lessons, a simulated gas attack, stretcher-bearing practice and much more

Zeitgeist Trench Experience in the UK - the perfect alternative to a battlefield tour to France and Belgium.

Yesterday it was my acrylic ink profile of 'Küken' Hubrich's Albatros D.Va from 1918. Today it's my profile (from the same 'In Different Skies' series) of his Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-4 that Hubrich was flying 22 years later in 1940.
No cute chick and egg painted on the side of this one!

It was a very late, wild and messy pre-birthday night, last night, but unlike those of my younger days (🥳🍾🍸🍷🍹🍺💃🎉), the reason was a very poorly Princess Pickle Pooch having a severe IBD attack in a top floor apartment 😞😵‍💫🥴

Thankfully she's now sleeping soundly, bless her little heart... 🤞🤞🤞

A bit of art to start the weekend.
Albatros D.Va of Gerhard 'Küken'(Chick) Hubrich, Marine-Feld-Jagdstaffel IV, 1918.
Hubrich was a German fighter pilot during both the First AND the Second World Wars - I'll post (skeet?) my profile of his Bf 109 E-4 tomorrow.
All of my profiles are acrylic ink.

Someone's done their homework with that Stab/JG 54 Bf 109 G-2... that's nice to see. :)

Very much looking forward to the resulting documentary.
The VO artist recording the 'Voice of God', today, was mindblowingly good!

(I wasn't sitting across the room, only pretending to work while I listened, in complete awe of her talent - honest! 😇😁)
Another virtual day in Soho today

It's what we do! Never a day goes by when we're not thinking about how we can improve our service, make tours more educationally valuable, provide better exam relevance.
It's really lovely to know that we're hitting the spot! Way to go, team! 💪

It's wonderful to be recognized for our unique school battlefield tours.

"Doing things differently" has been our guiding principle from the very beginning, and it continues to shape everything we do."

Today is the day these two finally depart the collection & start their journey back to active service
The guys working on them over the last few days have performed miracles getting the kit out & reverting them both back to APC shells ready for Ukraine 🇺🇦 prep
We will miss them though

Today I am prepping a public talk that I'll be delivering next month at the 'Hooge Crater Museum' near Ypres. The 'touristic' experience of a young German volunteer who found himself on the Flanders front in 1914-15 based on his personal diaries and letters.

What are you guys up to?

Here's a bit of art for today: my von Ribbentrop Panzer IV profile in acrylic ink, painted a few years back for a British magazine about German military history.
For anyone new to following me, I very much enjoy painting things with gears/levers/springs/valves/rivets/sprockets/twiddly bits/etc.

This Daguerreotype of
Jean Baptiste Pasquanet Baron de Pierre Brune is the oldest photograph in my collection (1845). Pasquanet, born in 1766, was an émigré who fought the armies of Revolutionary France in the War of the First Coalition (1792-1797)

Received an email, yesterday, from a chap who had ordered an Eric Lock Spitfire mug. Turns out he'd ordered it as a gift for his 92 year old father whose cousin married Eric in July 1940, 13 months before he was lost. Brought a tear to my eye. Happy that my artwork makes connections down the years.

Always looking for new ways to make history memorable for today's students, and tomorrow's students, and the day after tomorrow's students.

Having only just arrived here, it really does feel like travelling back in time. How lovely to again have a news feed full of positive, interesting stuff! I have missed that so much! And so many "old" names from the good old days on Twitter. Hello old friends! I'm a very happy bunny 🐰

I'm told that over here there's a magical platform where it's possible to travel back in time to those halcyon days when everything was lovely... That's probably a bit of an exaggeration but I'm keeping my fingers crossed 🤞😁
