Today is Equal Pay Day.

From now until the end of the year, women in the UK are effectively working for free.

The gap still sits at 10.9% and for many Black and Asian women it’s even wider.

We need equal pay, flexible work and transparency.

Not tomorrow, today.

I’ve spent today reflecting on Trans Day of Remembrance.

Too many trans lives are still lost to violence and hate. We all have a responsibility to stand against prejudice and build a world where everyone is safe and valued.

Let's be each other's allies🌈

I’ve heard from hundreds of residents worried sick about family in Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa.

I’ve written to the Home Secretary urging a temporary humanitarian visa or fee waiver so vulnerable relatives can reach safety.

Prayers for Jamaica 🇯🇲👇🏾

Honoured to attend City Hall to mark 25 years of successful devolved government in London.

And to celebrate my friend, our amazing @london.gov.uk 🤗

Since the GLA was created, it’s played an essential part in making London what it is today.

The best city in the world. ⭐️

Great to speak at the @coopparty.party.coop conference with @paulsweeney.bsky.social and Victoria Desmond about mental health and why we must reject politics that pits people against each other.

A fair society means standing together, not stepping on others to get ahead!

No one runs their personal best alone, we are in the fight of our lives and we must win!

At the Compass AGM, I spoke about how the far right is organising with money, and how we must organise with unity, courage and hope.

Thank you Luke Tryl and Neal Lawson for an important conversation.

The problem with the BBC is...

It needs to go slow in a world of 24-hour hot takes.

I’ve written about why the BBC must go slow, not get scrapped. Check it out here 👇🏾

The BBC Needs To Go Slow
There has been much debate about the BBC in recent days, and it feels as though the organisation is at a crossroads.

This #SaferGamblingWeek is a chance to have honest conversations about gambling harm. @SGWeek

I’ve spoken to many people whose loved ones have been caught in a cycle of loss & addiction. Gambling companies must take responsibility.

A pleasure to speak at the Compass AGM alongside Luke Tryl and Neal Lawson.

A really productive discussion with thoughtful, challenging questions from engaged members. Exactly the kind of debate our movement needs.

Great to join an inspiring panel at the @coopparty.party.coop conference on strengthening mental health provision.

With bold ideas, community leadership and real investment, we can build a system that finally meets the scale of need.

Donald Trump suing the BBC for £1bn isn’t relevant to the real conversation about our national broadcaster.

What matters is protecting a strong BBC by slowing down the news cycle and focusing on careful, factual journalism.

Nigel Farage’s comments show just how out of touch he is with the reality of gambling harms. 🎰

Leaders must take this seriously — which is why I’m calling to scrap the broken ‘aim to permit’ system.

We need a system that protects people over profit. 👇🏾

Nigel Farage downplays problem gambling and says gambling industry shouldn’t face higher taxes
"Gambling has social harms attached to it. It preys on vulnerable people, so they absolutely should be paying more."

On Armistice Day, we remember those who lost their lives to war. We honour their memory not just in today’s silence, but through a determination to seek peace instead of war.

It was a privilege to join the Mayor of Brent at St John the Evangelist Church in Wembley to pay our respects.

If mould can make a top footballer seriously ill, imagine what it does to children living in damp homes whose lungs are yet to develop.

That’s why this Gov't brought in Awaab’s Law and the Renters’ Rights Act, to make sure every family has a safe home and give renters the protection they deserve.
