I don't think any Baptist forum could last that long without splitting into 25 separate forums, at least 8 of which are non-denominational.

They've also been more public recently with the fact that Max consistently races with newer and better/more upgraded parts than his teammates, who often have older spec components or hand-me-downs on a nominally identical car.

And also that the B1G West no longer exists

At this point you have to believe they're going to hire some guy from the NFL who we're only vaguely aware of.

Let them *sail* the pirates ship

College football is also just better in general when you have a bunch of lifer coaches who completely merge their identity with a program. It's more narratively fun and also just more satisfying in every direction.

Pretty sure Kirby coached all the way through the championship in 2015 but I think his relationship with Saban is fundamentally different than any of the other former assistants.

Yes. Pretty easy and no-stress process, especially if you don't like haggling.

As good as Max has been this year, he deserves to lose the title by 8 or fewer points, which would mean his decision to hit Russell on purpose in Spain cost him the title.

Yeah this has to be the way to do it if it's going to work. I can justify one or two of these subscriptions out of the dozen or so I'd love to support, and that's not sustainable for anyone.

If you're in Lane's situation and you always stay one leap away from the "perfect fit" job you get to keep holding it as leverage over your current employer. Kind of like when there were no NFL teams in LA so all of them could threaten to move there in order to extract more money from municipalities

See, I think his one real strength is getting to whatever your school's resource ceiling is. He had PSU spending absolutely wild amounts of money on coordinators and other stuff. The problem is that you'll never be sure the on-field product is actually paying you back in full for that investment

I think he knew what all the jobs were supposed to be but not how to make them work, or he was just too focused on being the OC to actually manage people.
November 17, 2025 at 3:24 PM
Seemed like he knew more or less how to build the back-of-house infrastructure of a top tier program but was totally overwhelmed by the challenge of overseeing the whole thing and giving it direction, which is doubly infuriating because you just end up with twice the staffers for the same outcomes.

One of the Florida schools would be a very good fit for him stylistically assuming he hasn't caught NFL Disease but I don't know that the boosters would accept that hire.

Lol I started another Sling weekend pass right around that time as well.

As a person who is about to list a modestly sized no-step ranch home on the market I reserve my right to change my opinion of this statistic in a few months.

I think the in-group here is an aspirational one. The real trick is convincing a huge percentage of the population that they're one great bet/investment, one fortuitous inheritance, one big tax break away from joining that in-group and being set for life.

Even at the high school level there aren't too many teams with totally shambolic kicking games anymore, which honestly kind of makes me sad.
November 10, 2025 at 3:46 AM
I think we're starting to see the results of good instruction reaching a far wider talent pool at all levels of the game. Hawaii's very good Japanese kicker who learned purely from watching YouTube videos is still the most astonishing example of that, but I think it's happening everywhere.

Stockton made that play happen IMO. Thomas was maybe the third or fourth option there and Stockton gave himself enough time to cycle through the other ones while still having the presence of mind to find him.

NGL a phishing scam with that as the subject would work on me every time
November 6, 2025 at 4:53 PM
Would have been much funnier to see him drop in as Wisconsin's sporadic bowl game interim from this position, you have to admit
