What's the difference between today and 40 days ago? Not a damn thing.
I legitimately feel like Democrats just fumbled at the 10 yard line.
Man, I had hope. Like real hope, that they reached in their pants and found accountability. I slept better this week.
It really is a big club, isn't it?

I would like to point out that the Fifth Amendment reads "No Person", not "No citizen".
Feels a bit... unconstitutional to claim that due process is only for US Citizens, or legal immigrants.

The AWS outage shows, once again, why monopolization of anything is a bad idea. If we never allowed AWS to grow to that size and buy all of its competition.
Since 2014, Amazon has acquired 18 companies that they rolled into AWS. 18 points of failure versus one. Consumers lose when companies merge.

It's 5 AM, I'm stoned, and I've been watching this for like 10 minutes.
It's cinema. The silly elliptical bike, the fact that his flag is draped all sad, the knock-off black bloc outfit with the FUCKIN FLIP FLOPS?
And no one's looking at him. Benny Hill on a pink megaphone upstaged his big moment.

I’ve seen just one counter-protester at No Kings San Diego. He’s got a Trump 2024 flag and this guy has been following him around for probably an hour playing Benny Hill and circus music.

What's so great about Webview2 anyway? Almost every incompatibility I've run into on linux stems from Webview crap. Is there no easier way to make graphics and shit for windows apps?

Holy shit. A congressional candidate leading by example.
I was taught to lead from the front. It's how you motivate those around you to accomplish the mission.

What do you think all the servers we're using for AI will end up doing when the bubble bursts?
Cheap gaming servers? High-fidelity 3d rendering farms? I mean, there's so much you can do with a kajillion graphics cards backed by the fastest internet ever used.

Legacy media having to learn what a groyper is was not on my 2025 bingo card.
I love that they're always so caught off guard by how... online people are.
The only thing funnier would be legacy media "discovering" how gross Asmongold is.
Welcome to the internet, legacy media. You're gonna hate it.

We really need better tech literacy.
Whats happened here is that a blurry photo was fed into a generative AI, which proceeded to make stuff up to fill in the missing (blurry) data in the image.
I know the tech companies are preaching that Ai is magic, but it's just guessing. Expensively guessing.

Today’s press pool photo shows Trump leaving the White House this morning.
I enhanced the image. And seriously, can an expert explain what the hell is happening to his forehead? Right above his nose and right brow.

Using LLMs for any process is just high-tech tea reading.
Just go see a medium, at least you'll get human interaction out of it.

I've finally nailed down my largest problem with "AI" and this idea of a generative AI.
Computers are great because they do exactly what you tell them to, for better or for worse. It's (ideally) determinitive and predictable.
But AI is neither of those.

Underrated reason to use Linux in 2025 is the pure shadenfreude of watching Windows users try to fix their drives after Microsoft shits the bed for the umpteenth update this year.
It's not all peaches and rainbows, for sure. But I don't have to unfuck my OS every quarter.

The EA App is such a pile of garbage. Doesn't run in Proton, barely runs in Lutris. I have a valid license for the game, dammit! Let me run the game on whatever OS I want.
Was thoroughly enjoying gaming on Linux until my friends wanted to play Battlefront II, which won't launch without the EA app.

I'd like to hear Billy's opinion on why Linux has been free, open source for decades. Every distro is hosted for free somewhere. Every windows application has some free alternative, or some free software that makes it work on Linux.
What is the incentive for that?
What is the incentive for that?
You may not like it, but humans respond to incentives—and money is a big one. If you mess with an incentive, you’ll get fewer things that change the world for the better. Especially when considering the state is really, REALLY good at one thing: wasting money.

Any one here got a gaming setup with Linux? I'm (slowly) making the switch. I got Bazzite installed and fought with filesystems for a bit before I got tired.
How do you all store your games? Windows only on windows? Shared filesystem between the two?
