What's funny is this guy is a CUNY professor supposedly.

But this is absolutely delusional stuff. US airstrikes were relatively precise over 20 years and the estimate is more like 5,000 civilians killed by US/Nato other allies.

But you know, gotta tell students what they want to hear.

The word on the street is that Mississippi has the best education system in the country when you adjust for demographics.

The secret? Stop trying to make education more complicated than it needs to be. First graders need to STFU and learn phonics.

Ease up on nonsense like Bloom's taxonomy etc.

Other more subtle issue is that it isn't really illegal to use wordsum tests on applicants but it creates a huge disparate outcomes risk.

Not worth it when a person's IQ is pretty easily discernible within a range and precision less important than Big 5 personality/experience/even attractiveness.

This is completely wrong.

Don't misunderstand. There is a much more plausible case against American higher ed.

But employers have thousands of ways to figure out if you have a high IQ or a low IQ.

They can usually guess pretty accurately simply by having a 30 second conversation with you.

I think these tweets are really silly at this point. These are obviously political appointments, no one cares about their qualifications.

I'm sad Gorsuch is on the court. But it's about the same as if Kidd Rock was on the court, the vote would be no different.
December 1, 2025 at 5:00 AM
I get what the QT post is saying but it's really antiquated that we don't have more objective standards for evaluating students to begin with in higher ed.

Give them exams and have an AI tool evaluate their writing. Profs mostly hate grading anyways.

This is largely true, though I sometimes wonder if people who say this are a little harsh on Michael. I think he may still crack the top 20.

But magic, Bird, Barkley, John Stockton. Yeah they would be absolutely underwhelming.

Jerry West meanwhile probably couldn't play for Tel Aviv Macabees.

Ok.... I vaguely sort of know who some of these people are.

But who's upper left?
And the center center
And the bottom center.

The woman center right looks very mean spirited. So I think it's Kesha? Or is it just someone who's also really mean spirited.

We don't need voters who read books. This discussion should just be dead in the water as pointless status signalling.

NYC has too many cars.

It sucks that mamdani is a pro terrorist guy but this is a solid step. Keep on the path of Michael Bloomberg and I'll dislike you less when this is all over.

The low economic growth in Canada is due to poor choices they made on economic policies.

The USA has plenty of boomers but we don't have the same problem, our balance sheet is fine. Perhaps our boomers are just better than yours.
November 30, 2025 at 8:36 PM
obviously low fertility rates do create a lot of cross generational tension because it isn't just about "my lazy grandkids" but "someone else lazy grandkids." immigration etc, they're from another a country.

But the obsession with housing as the only type of asset becomes old.

If you asked me to name the greatest box office flop (high qualify, lost money) I'd go with Scorsese's Hugo. (2011)

It's a children's film that many enjoyed and no one recommended to their friends. A bit too bbc vibes.

But you know, exactly what you'd expect Scorsese to do with a kids film.

TIL there are more people living in Queens, NY born in China than from any Latin American country.

Now I'm not sure if PR was a country, if that would be higher than China so idk.
November 28, 2025 at 7:39 PM
I actually think it's fair to say that the very first colonists at Plymouth were simply colonists. Not immigrants. Immigration means going to a civil society that already exists.

But ofc I don't see "colonialism" as inherently evil anyways, so it's not a weighty distinction.
November 28, 2025 at 7:37 PM
Sorry but if you're a white supremacist libertarian your only take on Hindu Americans from India should be that they learned the rules of American capitalism and played the game better than almost all of us.

David Shor has been beating the Tik Tok drum for a while.

This isn't really related to AI created content, not yet.

But has more to do with the fact that you don't have to be a dedicated artiste to make viral TT content. So it's turning into a big vector for right-wing outreach.
November 28, 2025 at 4:43 PM
This gets into the heart of the matter perhaps. AI will not really eliminate employment by the "creatives". But it will probably replace liberal content creators with conservatives, as is already being done with podcasts.
November 27, 2025 at 8:23 PM
I think part of this is that the trad subculture doesn't even see "high value" man as that related to income.

They don't admire wimpy computer programmers living in big houses at the suburbs of Boston who will happily will do housework for the wife.
November 27, 2025 at 7:56 PM
I hate the constant bombardment of bait on twitter so much.

Yes, a lot of men would have sex with any woman regardless of how hot or ugly she was. And no, that's not new and it does not really condemn you to celibacy.
November 27, 2025 at 7:46 PM
The "Left" as in liberals and non white Democrats does not believe this.

The "Left" as in the far left types who had Mamdanigasms though, are close to thinking this way.
November 27, 2025 at 5:30 PM
Religious people are happier and they reproduce more but there's just not a lot of evidence religion is needed for a moral society.

Sweden is extremely secular and moral because people aren't stupid and they realize that even the best prison is kind of uncomfortable.
November 27, 2025 at 5:24 PM
My understanding is that men trading in their wives when they get rich is rare, and especially if you exclude niche groups like rockstars and actors.

It's much more common the other way around.
November 27, 2025 at 5:13 PM
I think the confusion on boomers is that basically X/Y/Z/A are just extending the prosperity narcissism that boomers created.

That is people born after 1964 are simply boomers with more boom.

It's just that bc boomers were such a clean break from the greatest they seem more exceptional.
