NJ announced a change to the Turnpike expansion project: it WON'T widen the Turnpike extension in Bayonne & JC. That's a win, but not time to take a victory lap yet. They'll still add car lanes on the bridge approaching it, so, more cars, pollution, & traffic. Spend that $10.5 bil on NJT instead!

Shirt I illustrated for @hudcostreets.org is out in the wild, and I love how it turned out. So many of us in Hudson County rely on NJ Transit, PATH trains, and our bikes to get around. We're one of the most densely populated places in the U.S., and our transportation infrastructure ain't cutting it.

Notably more shy: this Pine Warbler, Northern Parula, Common Yellowthroat, and Black & White Warbler. (I also saw a couple of Killdeer flushed by a falcon, Ruby-crowned Kinglets, and Redstart).

Got to photograph one of my favorite birds this morning — a Black-throated Blue Warbler — at Reservoir #3 here in Jersey City.

Andrew Cuomo's new logo is, unfortunately, a second-rate version of this branding I created with @eleanalittle.bsky.social for her city council campaign here in Jersey City (incidentally, the actual home of the Statue of Liberty).

This drove me totally nuts. "Some see this as bad, while others see this as also bad."

Cycling rules because if you are going to be riding for more than four hours it's basically self-sabatoge to NOT eat the filthiest fast food you can think of and slam a baja blast (this spring I learned Dunkin' serves weird savory wraps after 12 p.m.).

Gorgeous layout and lettering on that book! The Illustrated Guide to Flowerless Plants is a favorite of mine, though I'll also mention Peter Matthiessen's Wildlife in America (if that counts).
