We can all agree this major thinker is entirely right about the wholly negative meaning of 'progressive' in any context. But how does he feel about 'supranuclear palsy'?
There are some truly unhinged bits in the piece about Glasman, as to be expected when dealing with Glasman, but seriously what the actual? That's...one hell of a conflation of terminology.

Distractingly intrusive music soundtrack aside, 'Train Dreams' (dir. Clint Bentley) is a flawless adaptation of Denis Johnson's novella. Very moving. Joel Edgerton as Robert Grainier is superb. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Nk8...

To a 50th anniversary screening of Paolini's 'Salò' (1975), as shocking and distressing now as it ever was.

Scrabble aside, the only board game I can bear to play dates back to the 1950s. In 'TAXI!' players move little cabs around a witty map of London, picking up and dropping off fares, avoiding hazards and earning tips. The passengers are an Ealing Studios comedy waiting to happen.

A wonderful film. Thorold Dickinson also directed the original 'Gaslight' (1940), far superior to George Cukor's later Hollywood version. www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBhh...
