Did you know there's an RPG with the same name? There's always a moment of readjustment when I see those words in another context.

4.1 Cats Vocalized More Toward Male Caregivers Among all the demographic factors examined, the only significant finding was that cats used vocal communication more frequently when greeting male caregivers. Female caregivers are generally more verbally interactive, more skilled at interpreting feline vocalizations (Turner 2021; Prato-Previde et al. 2020), and more likely to mimic the vocalizations of their cats (Pongrácz and Szapu 2018). It is therefore possible that male caregivers require more explicit vocalizations to notice and respond to the needs of their cats, which in turn reinforces cats' tendency to use more directed and frequent vocal behavior to attract their attention.

Reading classic-style prose always perks me up and makes me alert for the dry asides ("unornamented") I love so much.
Two sentences highlighted on the same page of a book. The first reads, "Since 1947 there have been at least six new editions of this book in France, one of them a superb luxury affair." The second reads, "All the later published editions stop at 99 too, though in the most recent (unadorned) edition (1973) there are some no doubt significant expulsions and substitutions."

KISS was my first concert: L.A., late '70's, for their album Dynasty. I was in second grade. My mom took me and my date, Jenny Puglisi. We sat high in the Forum, stage right. I loved the pyro and sang every word.

RIP, Ace.

Somehow missed this @patrickhwillems.bsky.social video about what I assume is poker movies. Didn't he already do one of those? Maybe. I've seen most of them. What else could this be? Is he wearing a turtleneck? The beard is back.
