I'm more grateful for it than I could possibly describe. It means *a lot* to me to make sure those who listen to my Audio Description performances--especially blind and low-vision people, who are the primary audience for AD--have a listening experience that helps them enjoy the show to the fullest.

I perform the Audio Description for this show. Thank you and Ashley for your memorably hilarious scene! Recording the description of your scene took...more than a few takes, since I kept screwing up from laughing. 😂

Fans, if you have the option, if you don't typically watch your shows w descriptive audio try rewatching an ep w it.
I don't regularly watch w AD, but I have to think that voice artist Dave Wallace and writer Kathlin Finn are going above & beyond w #TheChairCompany =)

Like, to give you an idea, I recorded ep 5's script word-for-word as I received it...with one exception. During the final scene of this episode where the, ahem...size of Scrooge's..."equipment"...is given, the script I had described it as "pretty big." I changed it to, "gloriously massive."

I say "for the most part," because every once in an exceedingly rare while, I'll make very, very minor changes to an AD script (with the understanding that, if the producers want me to go back and record it as written, I will happily comply). Sometimes they keep my changes, sometimes they don't.

Oh, thank you very much, @cabinboy100.bsky.social!
For the most part, no, I didn't write it, that would be Kathlin Finn (@katfinn.bsky.social)--I've worked with other AD scripts she has written before, and she's a consistently excellent writer!

ExpressVPN is great for that purpose!

Have you tried watching from a streaming service while “in” the UK (which is to say, via a VPN)? Sometimes that works.
Britain has some *great* AD performers! One of my favorite ones of all time is Veronica Hicks, who performed the AD for “The Crown.”

be paid more than union scale, that is 100% allowed...and that happens *regularly* if we're talking about celebrities. Heh, like, there's no way Robert Downey Jr., for example, is playing "Doctor Doom" for union scale. I can virtually guarantee you he negotiated *way* more than that.

I know my actor friends know this, of course, but I'm just typing this out for those who may not be in a union and may not be aware. Union scale--the minimum required payment--just represents the "floor," not the "ceiling" of what can be paid. If a worker can negotiate with the employer to <cont'd>

A common misconception I've seen is that having a union "forces everyone to be paid the same amount, so workers who are making good money now would have their pay lowered."
Not true. In SAG-AFTRA, union scale is just the *minimum* required payment. Paying workers *more* than that is still allowed.

Oh it *is* live! I'm putting my credits back up as we speak. That said, I was told that they are being vetted by real people as opposed to AI (*no* objections to that, mind you!), so it may take a while for some credits to get approved. I'd have to imagine IMDb has a tsunami of credits incoming.

I’d be lying if I said the DW series was my favorite game series of all time, and I have a tendency to skip entries so it’ll feel like more has changed from the last entry I played.
But that said? I do play them, and *like* the button mashing. Plus, the voice acting has gotten very good over time!

Ooooooh, yeah, sorry, it's state and federal law that when our dogs fall asleep on us, we're not allowed to move until they wake up.
Ah well. At least they're adorable. 🐶

Then it'll be like 3D. It's around. But it's *not* "the golden ticket" that movie/TV studios so obviously hope it will be.
