Just finished my current read, PROVENANCE by Ann Leckie. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it - there were way more hijinks than I expected, and that was great.

Revising a query letter again because apparently no one has thought up a better system yet. Somehow.

Icicles in Texas = several thousand words on my first draft. Are they any good? That's a problem for future me.

Too bad I can't hire myself as an editor ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ #writing #editing #firstdraft #scifi #fantasy #querying #submitting #books #winterstorm

For the first time in a while I woke up in the mood to write. First drafts are just punishing. Maybe it's something about the frigid weather that finally made it click

I have one editing slot left for February (max 150k words) for scifi or fantasy, and I'd loooove to sink my teeth into someone's story. The crazier the better. First 5k words free for a sample edit and my rate is $0.01 per word after that. Website in bio

This isn't a book review account but I finished THE BIBLE SAYS SO by @maklelan.bsky.social like two weeks ago and I still can't stop thinking about it. I hardly ever read long-form nonfiction but this was a five star way to start 2026. Highly recommend it

If you ever feel like published fiction - especially fantasy - is just more of the same, I'd suggest scrolling through the query letters on r/PubTips. New stories are still out there, even if they're not always the ones that get pushed

After writing and editing my own work (and informally editing the work of peers) for several years, I'm getting into the freelance editing scene. Currently offering developmental and query letter editing for SFF. Website in bio for details.
