Basically - you can drop the player into an empty box room in Halo with enemies and it’ll still be fun. Not so with COD2.

PC version is better but it still feels bad and has horrible mission design next to Halo. It’s just a boring, bad design. Subsequent games at least made the weapons feel great. They do not feel great in 2.

I think ultimately pushing “nothing” actually sucks and it’s just a bad idea for games in general. It works with select concepts but it’s super limited - like buying a Dance Pad or a drum set. Should never have been a major focus.
