It's disappointing that people still cling to the good guy/bad guy dichotomy. It assumes you're a good guy, and you should really *never* assume you're the good guy. Even calling someone a bad guy implies you're a good guy.

Occurs to me that, in the context of slavery in America, and the horrors therein, there very much is historical precedent for this sort of depravity from a ruling class that believes those below them to be literally subhuman. Cattle.
