This is just my observation based on being involved in fandom for 2 decades. It wasn't intended as a discussion but it left my base audience.

I tried to cover that with the 'many can articulate problems' to be fair to people who gave it a go in good faith but I guess the concise nature of these platforms doesn't help.

Look you know it was fair of you to throw me a few bones there around my salient point - I respect that. I guess we just have had different journies with it. Mine was just on the forums seeing any positive speak about GT shut down but very few having seen it or able to articulate why etc

Not really, because I don't hate Super and I don't hate Daima. Both had a lot to love. Next!

absolute PRIME example right there! who would have guessed in like 2007 that we'd be seeing such high-level displays of integration into mainstream cultural touchstones

Yep there is definitely an element of that close-mindedness. There's nothing wrong with preferring subbed but the instinctive hatred and refusal to acknowledge dubs are generally way better productions than they were around 2001 is silly. Personally I watch and enjoy many in both dubbed & subbed.

Definitely was. Weirdly he is still a character in the film, which is almost even more disappointing

I couldn't quite believe it but essentially they redirected the narrative focus onto another element which I think was an attempt to simplify the plot. To be fair I did feel the end of the book was jam-packed so maybe they overcompensated trying to streamline it
