Sorry I haven't been on much lately. Enjoy chatting to you guys! For the last week or more I've been overwhelmed with a uni assignment. It is a tricky one that is open to a lot of interpretation in different ways. The deadline looms and I've slowly been trying to close it off. Take care peeps!

I think I have read the One Piece manga back to front 3 times. I have definitely done at least 2 full rereads while the series was at 1100+ chapters. I remember the last time it took me about 6-8 months since I don't have so much time to spend on that compared to when I was a kid.

One Piece is exploding rn. Netflix got Egghead sub but a week behind Crunchyroll. Netflix made a Live Action & secured the WIT remake. Crunchyroll has all eps subbed. BBC iPlayer got 1000+ eps dubbed. Netflix will soon add the very first eps in dub & sub. Everybody's dying for a piece of One Piece!

There is no 'nostalgia' factor of watching DBGT when younger clouding your vision - watching it without a hater in your ear is the true experience because all the idolised otaku forum/messageboard elders were furious about it and nobody wants to be uncool and ostracised for stepping out of line.

Ventured into town today
I love films that hurt. To me, a film that makes you feel something is better than a film that you can say is brilliant on a technical level but doesn't stay with you after you walk out of the screen.
For a long time I went through a phase of setting some big cultural films aside for a later day as I didn't like the idea of power through iconic movies like a checklist and having seen most of them. This weekend I finally watched 500 Days of Summer! I really enjoyed it - beautiful film.

The deal Pokémon have made to host the seasons of the Pokémon anime is very strange. Youtube is leaning towards short-form content but at the same time in some facets trying to be pushed like a streaming service. Do people actually view Youtube as a streaming service anymore than say what iTunes was

It would be easy to come back and pull some switcheroo and say that Billie Piper isn't The Doctor. It would actually take guts to have her be The Doctor for the next 3 or 4 years and make something really fantastic out of it. She could absolutely lead that show forward.

what i am learning about myself is if you tell me your game is 100 hours long i will be disgusted and not want to play it, but if i am led to infer your game is 30 hours long, i will play it, and then if it happens to actually be 100 hours long and i love it i will simply finish it

I enjoyed Netflix's adaptation of The Thursday Murder Club a lot - probably an 8/10 for me. Although, some of the changes were a little disappointing even if I understand why they were made. Despite a couple of 'fake outs', omitting the Father Mackie plot was a big mistake.

I'm once again eager to find out what is in store for the next era of Dragon Ball. Personally, I feel like you could expand Daima as a concept for at least another 5 years. What would be the point of throwing it away when we could get 20 episodes exploring the world created every year or 2?

I was thinking the other day. Isn't it crazy how we live in this ultra-connected realtime world and yet 30 years ago we weren't that connected but in a way we really were through shows like Pokémon. We were playing the same games, watching the same episodes. It was a singular, shared experience.

Most people just hate Dragon Ball GT because they are told it is the accepted position. They know they need to think that & circle back with excuses which reach that end point. There are many who can articulate genuine problems but many more whose dislike seems forced and hollow.
