He has a dozen songs as good, and plenty of great guitar work. This is the song where they came together best I reckon

Best half-improv solo anyway

just today I've listened to albums by Killing Joke, Muse and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. We like what we like (and we don't like Dire Straits)

They've replaced it with Sgt Peppers. Sweet

I have an inexplicable hatred for Dire Straits

From memory they opened with it at Mt Smart in 2019

The whole 'U2 is bland' trope is fucking stupid... I mean, which U2 are we talking about here? The post-punk band that recorded Boy, October and War? Stadium U2? '90s experimental U2? etc. Things do get bland towards the end, I'd agree, but there's little bland material in their first 20 years

Salt and Vinegar has been undefeated my entire lifetime

Ditto Judas Priest and Freddie Mercury...

Yeah. I distinctly remember the day I found out old bands with catalogues were a good way to find 'new' music - I was about 18 and realised Talking Heads were more than just the 'Psycho Killer' band

At least once a year I discover a band with an amazing catalogue I wasn't aware of - though usually I'm aware they exist via one or two hits, just not aware of their overall excellence. XTC, Simple Minds, Killing Joke have all been big finds for me the last few years

A real challenge would be trying to avoid Mariah Carey

I sat in a boat in an Australian creek while the skipper prodded and proked alligators into giving us a show, hopefully not too much of a show...

If you're investigating the catalogue, my suggestion would be to start at Coming Up and go backwards, not forwards 😂 At least for classic era Suede. For the reunion records, they're all pretty consistently solid but 'The Blue Hour' would be my favourite

Guessing the Aussies never got the togs/undies education campaign

Mine has the phrases 'album shit' and 'weird songs'. Even the computers know
