Found this very cool pseudoscorpion indoors. Perhaps transported in a peach stalk. Anyone know which species it is?

Isn't it great that the biological control of the spiky and not very welcome Green Alkanet is so pretty?!
Scarlet Tiger moths are very welcome in my garden

I've gone past no-mow May and intend to only cut in September when most plants have set seed. It also helps feed up these Green Shield-bug nymphs on the Crested Dog's-tail grass

That's a special plant to see. I found this new site for it near Garway Hill, Herefordshire back in 2008. I was beside myself with excitement!

My daughter wants to start a band called 'The Yellow Archangels'. A good choice I think! I love the little fringe of hairs on the upper edge of the flower cap

Leopard's-bane is doing rather well on the western flank of Earl's Hill, Shropshire. Looks like it's not been recorded here before: flora.shropshirebotany.org.uk/species/Doro...

Great quote at the MMCLT Woodland Conference with regard to damage to woodlands by deer "Save Bluebells, eat Bambi"

Here's Spotted Medick

These are most of the yellow 'clover' species that get confused in Shropshire. In order: Lesser Trefoil, Black Medick, Slender Trefoil, and Hop Trefoil. I can only post 4 images so have missed Spotted Medick

Just at Woodland Conference run by middlemarchescommunitylandtrust.org.uk. Who knew that hedgerow trees hold the greatest number of trees in UK after conifer forest?!
@naturalengland.bsky.social are hoping for an average of 1 mature tree per 40m of hedge. In Shropshire it's currently 1 every 80m

Representatives from @nationaltrust.bsky.social and Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust viewing the leading technology for removing Carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Pyrolysis. And it generates more energy than it needs. And the #biochar produced restores soil and removes pollution from water. Nice eh?

Look at all this lovely #biochar. Atmospheric Carbon dioxide safely stored and on its way to help restore soil.
All made with a C1000 pyrolysis unit made in Wales and 50-50% owned by #ShropshireCouncil and
#Woodtek - #BioDynamicCarbon

Shropshire Council is getting another. Is your Local Authority?

Spring is coming and the frogs are busy. There were 18 clumps of spawn in this pond - which is risky as this pond dries out early. Fingers crossed for them!

Nice mix of leaves I thought... I've really been enjoying proper frosty mornings

I'm enjoying playing with the macro function of my new phone camera. A beautiful tableau of urban wall-top mosses. Anomalous Bristle-moss bring centre stage but also some Syntrichia and Thickpoint Grimmia and Grey-cushioned Grimmia.

After nearly a year we (Shropshire Council and Woodtek Engineering) have a fully functioning Pyrolysis unit! They have called her Diane. It's the best form of Carbon Dioxide Removal tech. It will offset Shropshire Council's entire carbon footprint (not scope 3). Amazing work by Woodtek

This beauty will be operational next week and producing 2.5 tonnes or more of biochar each day. I suspect the first of many Joint Ventures between a Local Authority and a Pyrolysis unit producer.
