Every once in a while you get a glimpse of the obscene amount of money floating around in some corners of Mexico 🇲🇽. During my 8 yrs in Guadalajara I saw plenty of luxury cars & stores. But "wearing my $50,000 USD watch at the seafood restaurant" is a whole other level.

After 9 years in Guadalajara 🇲🇽 we've moved back to Portland, Oregon.

It's only Day 2 and my 9yo has already observed, "Papá, everyone here is...a little weird 😏"

That's a hell of a combination of stickers.

Also the first time in 9 years living in Guadalajara 🇲🇽 that I've seen such blatant fascist iconography.

Also, fuck Nazis.

I've lived in Guadalajara 🇲🇽 long enough to know that these gorgeous clouds mean I have about an hour to bring the laundry in or it's going to get soaked

Somehow I missed this detail the first time around. Oh Mexico, never change
July 7, 2025 at 11:00 PM
I know next to nothing about LA but I assume the Consulate General of Mexico being right across the street means a lot of Mexicans (undocumented and otherwise) would tend to visit the area

Eeriely like the posters of "disappeareds" one sees here in Mexico 🇲🇽 -- except in these cases it's people disappeared by criminal cartels, not the government

My understanding is that the concern is specifically about the bee species that's most used commercially

July 3, 2025 at 7:33 PM
Thanks for fighting.

And, it's reality past time to use stronger language than "ICE gets more funding".
July 3, 2025 at 7:11 PM
This can't be right. @cnn.com went a week and a half without a single article about ICE?!?
