This was surprisingly complicated to code, but water elementals now have a whirlpool ability that pulls you (and items and other monsters) toward them.

(And you can be hurt by colliding with a wall or monster, etc)

Not 100% happy with the spiral animation though

lol, I posted about how I disentangled the code for picking what glyph to display? Turns out while fixing it I'd simultaneously broke the ability to save games and introduced a lighting glitch...

The circled area shouldn't be lit up by the player's torch

I've been working on a submerged/underwater cave this week and couldn't not have the most terrifying looking sea creature of them all: an angler fish.

It's hard to see in the video but if you are within sight of it, you may be compelled to swim toward it.

I’ve never really found a way I like to take notes digitally. I think I just like how tactile it is to scribble in a notebook, doodle, cross things out. So I fill notebooks full of notes for delve, work, things i want to remember. It’s not journaling but I do sometimes scribble down random thoughts

The next thing I'm working on is an underwater cave. I didn't like the underwater effect I made a while back, and here's a new version based off the fog animation I made a couple of weeks ago. Next up: filling the cave with vicious, nasty fishies...

details probably only I care about. The smithy in town should have a sign beside its door and a path leading to the centre of town but something is up.

There was that article a few years ago about how ORMs are the Vietnam War of computer science, but UI tweaks have to be a close second.

Anyhow, I noticed NPC barks were getting chopped off if they were wider than the view area so had to fix that:
