#virginia’s New Governor Ends ICE Program. Local Contracts Remain. For Now.

“Abigail Spanberger this afternoon ordered that all state agencies leave ICE's 287(g) program.

This means that the state police (and some other agencies) will no longer be empowered to detain and arrest people for #ice […]

Folks selling Kindle books, you should know that Amazon now offers the option to allow EPUB and PDF downloads of DRM-free books.

The option is presented when adding new books to Kindle, but for existing titles you have to opt-in for each of them to allow these new file formats.

(Amazon isn’t […]

Actually, I do get it. Our culture is structured to protect abusers and men who want to be the Great Man in the narrative.

When these sorts of men encounter a subculture that behaves otherwise, it enrages them.

They appeal to the broader culture's misogyny, & construct opsec as hysterical.

On trans Bluesky, there are many posts circulating describing Epstein's anti-trans views and ties to prominent transphobes.

Anti-trans politics fit neatly into all of this because the existence of trans people threatens the idea that men are naturally superior to women.
These men hate the left, labor organizing, feminism, #metoo, and human rights movements because all of these are pushing for equality and accountability, presenting a threat to these men's ability to dominate and abuse with impunity.

Really weird to see scans of printed out Wikipedia pages in the Epstein documents, and they’ve redacted names from them, but the URLs and dates are printed in the footer, so you can go look up the pages from those dates and see all the names.

I feel like the push towards genAI is reflective of the notion that all things are just Product and the goal is to be Productive.

The drive is to get any sort of end result, whether it’s good or not, because all that matters is shipping something rather than what that thing actually is.

genAI […]

Could you make a bigger footgun please?

6am on Christmas.

Sitting home with the whole family just begging the creepiest man on earth to show you a good time by email.

It's real sad. And gross. And sad.
