A tyrant doesn’t negotiate when compassion is the price.
He starves the people, then blames their hunger on the ones offering bread.

Let the record show, when given the choice between power and compassion, the GOP chose the lock over the key.

Q: What's the evidence of that?

Under the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, use of yellow mustard would require a 7-level sentence enhancement, dijon 10 levels, and spicy brown 12.
The officer Sandwich Guy is charged with assaulting testifies that he could feel the impact of the sandwich through his ballistic vest, and it “exploded all over my uniform.” He says he could “smell the onions and the mustard.”

Mike Johnson still refuses to swear her in.

A House of Dynamite is the best film in years on nuclear war. You may think the risks are small, but even a small danger, multiplied over a number of years, sums to an unacceptable chance of nuclear annihilation. My thoughts on the film, below, and this short 🧵. newrepublic.com/article/2016...
A House of Dynamite Explodes the Missile Defense Myth
It is no wonder the interceptors fail in the film. This is an accurate portrayal of what is likely to happen in a crisis.

Yes this is great. But after FL, MO and other R states redistrict and SCOTUS kills the VRA, Republicans will have the technical means to make the baseline House balance +5 R on the national popular vote.

And it will all be perfectly legal.
This is what democracy looks like. #NoKings

Portland: if a streamer from out of state gets arrested or detained, perhaps wait to see if he gets more than a citation before donating $100,000+ to his "legal defense". that money is vastly in excess of what he might possibly need and could have gone to helping people in serious legal jeopardy

NEW — I dug into the story of ICE abducting a 13-year-old boy in Massachusetts and moving him 500 miles across state lines without notifying his mother, local cop's complicity, and how the federal government's justification for such cruelty is already falling apart:
ICE took a 13-year-old they said had a gun. Local cops say he didn’t.
Now he's detained 500 miles away from his Massachusetts home.

That's twenty-seven flat-out murders. That's twenty-seven lives taken without even a semblance of a legal justification under domestic or international law.

For nearly half a century, Leonard Zeskind risked life and limb to expose the danger of white nationalism and stem the far-right’s march from the margins to the mainstream.
