Despite declines in 2023, the overall U.S. maternal mortality rate (18.6 deaths per 100,000 live births) is higher than rates in the majority of all high-income countries. Mothers in Louisiana had the highest state rate of death in 2023 (41.9). Nationally, under-5 mortality remained stable at 6.7 deaths per 1,000 live births in 2023, comparable to rates in Albania (6.6) and Chile (7.0); Mississippi (10.3) had the highest state rate and Massachusetts (3.8) had the lowest. In 2023, the U.S. infant mortality rate (5.6 deaths per 1,000 live births) falls between Qatar (5.5) and Romania (5.8). Of all states, Mississippi (8.9) had the highest and New Hampshire (3.1) had the lowest infant mortality rates. U.S. neonatal mortality (3.6 deaths per 1,000 live births) was comparable to Canada (3.4) in 2023; New Hampshire (2.0) had the lowest rate of all U.S. states and among the lowest rates of all countries in this analysis. Black maternal and child mortality rates are the highest of any racial or ethnic group in the U.S., and as a group, Black children under age 5 have a higher mortality rate than any state or other demographic group, at 13.4 deaths per 1,000 live births — comparable to rates in Mexico (13.0) and Laos (13.5).

You can see the rise of cases up until early 2021 when mask mandates were taking place, a steady decrease as the vaccine became available up until a small sliver when around June, 2021 Biden said "take off your masks" this is circled and labeled on the graph by me. Shortly after that point, the covid cases steadily start increasing again until they accelerated past 2020 numbers in Jan 2022 where the graph ends

yep exactly. also. sentiment analysis on its own is unfortunately not super great particularly when it comes to microblogging. there’s just not enough characters a lot of times for it to work well - Hailey Oct 6, 2025 And ya, it's super cheap to run sentiment analysis alone, plenty of open source models available even for it and they run just fine on low-grade hardware. How it started

The country was once a major oil exporter, especially after PDVSA was created in 1976 and foreign oil companies were nationalised. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Venezuela supplied roughly 1.5 to 2 million barrels per day to the United States, making it one of America’s largest foreign oil sources. However, exports began to decline sharply after Hugo Chavez was elected president in 1998, as he reshaped the country’s oil sector, nationalising assets, restructuring PDVSA, and prioritising domestic and political objectives over traditional export markets. Political instability, mismanagement at PDVSA and underinvestment in infrastructure also led to falling production.
