I think there is something sacred in the act of remembering.

It is beautiful to hold space for things that are important to you. To give something a part of the intangible and infinite space within you. To be able to recall some happiness by reaching into that space.

To be remembered, how special!

My mom (who is black) had to work today (MLK Day).
Her coworkers (not black) took today off. No, they weren't given the day off, (her job doesn't recognize MLK Day) they took off.

I'm so mad. Everything is wrong. I really wish I had enough money to where she didn't have to work.

I changed the pinned post on my profile.

Not because I don't want people to engage with what I'm doing, but because I think ads are annoying. And it kind of sucks that the first thing you would have seen when checking my profile was an ad essentially.

The constant reminders that avoiding Amazon at all costs was good.

They're still doing the job. What does it matter for them to be human for a few minutes?

Never sell your joy for a paycheck. I hope the drivers can find another job or all agree to sing in protest until the AI is removed.
This is the fucking limit. I had no idea that Amazon drivers AREN'T ALLOWED TO SING

CRUSH this monopoly wtf my levels were already redlining

Are we going to complain to the wrong people or get the work cleaning? Technically neither is wrong, just make sure you're engaged in the right fight. Whatever right means to you.

This. I tell people who don't know what to do but want to do something, do what you can.

If that's poetry, teaching, talking, remembering, donating, creating, whatever, do that.

Not everyone needs to make a big dent. Enough little dents work just as well.

When you want to watch a show, but then a character dies now you're too sad to keep watching...

I didn't even care that much, but it's like...now she's gone and I hate that.
I hate I didn't cherish her, now I feel like going back and watching all the episodes again.

Know yourself and become unshakable in your Self

Also be real with yourself and flexible

Having a strong and loving support system

Prasing your success, and having mercy for your failure

Being kind to others teaches you kindness for yourself

Respect your time, your rest, and your boundaries
How does one stop caring what people think of them? I really wanna stop caring about what anyone has to say about me who doesn't know me personally.

Cramming a chamber orchestra into a small space can make for some... interesting seating arrangements. Today, we did almost a straight line, lol

Sitting near the brass always gives me a headache, but they sound really nice!
And I get to do it again tomorrow (hopefully in a larger space).

If politicians are indeed actors, then we the people are the directors in the movie that is America.

...the filming has been turning out pretty terrible. Either some of the actors lied on their resume, or they don't take direction well.
Maybe both.

Let's maybe consider recasting some folks.

Can't go to the garden this week. Very sad, but that's life.
You make one plan, but the universe has another.

Your joy is power
Your rest is power
Your hope is power
Your existence is power

Do the work, but also play, live, and keep growing.
I don’t know how to help people on this app understand that you can just let people have happy moments! and in fact you *should*

The world is shit, if someone is smiling for a second, AWESOME

💯 Commitment to freedom means commitment to the practice of freedom even if you are not fully free. It’s a belief in a liberated future materialized as present action.

As many great leaders have done for us over the years. If one can't make us say, "wow, we should do this all the time (service)," or make us think, "wow, I wish that would happen (speeches)," and give us that path, then maybe that vision isn't worth following.

I wish more people understood that.
"If you want to build a ship ... teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea."
- Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Leaders lead.

The whole point of being a political leader is to paint an image of the future that attracts people to it.
We need to pick up this Overton Window and throw it as far as we can. Stop waiting for shit to “be popular” and start advocating for what is transparently right.

Planning how to grow out a garden is more difficult than I thought. I don't want to spend a bunch because I want to do accessible methods, so I have to figure out how to DIY everything.

It's still good work, so I'm up for it.
Currently on phase 1 still (cleaning), so we're on track.

I met her at church when I lived in Harlem. She immediately told me, I’m your grandmother. THE CICELY TYSON! But she saw something I didn’t. One day she randomly said to me, “You deserve a great love, never forget it.“ It was the same words my grandmother said before her death.

Change is possible, I know it is.

...the question is how far will we have to fall before it becomes our only move?

Sitting here, having reached a compromise regarding the blanket...

I wonder about my internalized -isims...

Something as simple as a turn of phrase can lead to hurt in one party and could be a slippery slope to worse things for the other.

I'd like to think I don't have any...but I don't know.

Me: We both need to be warm, so can we agree to split the big blanket 50/50?

SO: You're more like a 35, 40 at best.

...I tried peace.

Agree. She's got a nice tone and really good vibrato, plus she's not really going off-pitch "naturally" if that makes sense?
Well. She's certainly making sounds isn't she?

I call shenanigans though. It's giving how bad can I sing this on purpose. Either that or she agreed to publicly sing a song she's never heard even once.
now why would you do that? up there sounding like Ms. Puff

My Poem: Sandcastle

I built a castle made of sand.
I could break it with my bare hands,
But I made it, so I'd rather it stand.
No force can reclaim this bit of land,
Where I built my castle of sand,

No force but the ocean and her waves.
