Nick Suzuki's Olympic dream formed watching idol Crosby score golden goal
Like most Canadians his age, Nick Suzuki grew up idolizing and modelling his game after Sidney Crosby. Now, breathing the same Olympic air as his hero, it all seems to have paid off. Eric Engels catc...

kind of funny that an olympian said they are here to represent "compassion, respect, and love for others" and some people automatically knew that was a statement against them

Calling Danault "selfish" and claiming he "refused to accept his role" is another unsubstantiated claim by Brian Wilde. It’s extremely unlikely Danault stayed on the ice against MSL’s instructions. As a defensive specialist he’s one of the best-suited player to regain possession after a lost faceoff

1️⃣Bolduc is not facing lesser competition since joining the Evans line. Since January 17, Bolduc played against elite competition 43.5% of the time as per puckiq.

2️⃣Find it annoying that people call them the 4th line when they are officially listed as the 3rd line since Dach joined them.

Since 2022-23, Jake Evans leads the team with 6 4v4 points

In terms of production rate, that puts him somewhere between Pastrnak and McDavid

(this isn't serious, small sample size and all, but kinda fun - for me anyway 😅)

Jake Evans since coming back from injury:
🔸xGF% 66.45 (2nd)
🔸59.1% faceoffs (1st)
🔸2nd most d-zone start %
🔸2nd lowest offensive zone start
🔸2nd lowest xGA/60 (1.36) while playing 42% of his 5v5 TOI against elite competition

But yeah, he's now trash because of one bad play on the PK against Boston.
January 25, 2026 at 2:52 PM
The Veleno–Evans–Bolduc line played 26 minutes so far, facing 45% elite competition (same as the Suzuki line) while posting a 1.78 xGA/60 and a 60.5% xGF%, while often starting in the d-zone.

The sample size is still very small, but those are elite defensive results against difficult competition.

Brian Wilde from Global News is using your model for GSAx. Not sure his statement here is accurate. Do you use or have access to 'shot speed' or 'traffic in front of the net' for your expected goal model? Thanks!

Hoping to see a line of Danault-Evans-Anderson tonight. Perfect shut-down line. ☺️

I missed Evans!!

Sounds like Jake Evans is likely to be back tonight for the Canadiens. Not clear who would come out if Evans is in. Kirby Dach’s not ready yet. No changes on D, Montembeault in net.
