When people derogatorily call PR folks #spin doctors, it’s because of people like her. No #PR professional should try to spin something that’s so easily refuted. She could have easily come up any number of better replies

Completely valid concern. How do you distinguish the real officers?
What worries me with ice is that the public has no way of knowing if they are really ice. They have unmarked vehicles, wear masks, show no warrants or legal paperwork, no identification, and appear very unprofessional and violent. Anyone could be impersonating ice to terrorize our communities.

Working on some research now about fandoms. Anyone have any examples of fandoms that split? In other words, a toxic #fandom evolved in addition to the regular fans? Looking for some examples besides #heatedrivalry

Remember: The real freeloaders in this country are the rich — not the poor or immigrants or any other group of people vilified as scapegoats. The richest 1% evade $163 billion in taxes every year. The United States literally has yacht and private jet tax deductions. Hello?

By pulling the U.S. out of the main international climate treaty, seizing Venezuelan crude oil and using government power to resuscitate the domestic coal industry while choking off clean energy, the Trump administration is not just ignoring climate change, it is likely making the problem worse.
Under Trump, U.S. Adds Fuel to a Heating Planet
The president’s embrace of fossil fuels and withdrawal from the global fight against climate change will make it hard to keep warming at safe levels, scientists said.

The #Trump admin is the worst at crisis communication. By denying things that are easily verified, they diminish their credibility and trustworthiness. They also have trouble keeping all their spokespeople on the same message. These are basic principles. #crisiscommunication

Moulton: "When we had briefings on Venezuela, we asked, 'Are you going to invade the country?' We were told no. 'Do you plan to put troops on the ground?' We were told no. 'Do you intend regime change in VZ?' We were told no. So in a sense, we have been briefed, we've just been completely lied to"

The US struck Venezuela and captured President Nicolas Maduro, who was taken out of the country, President Trump said. It is the first such direct intervention by the US in Latin America since the invasion of Panama in 1989 reut.rs/4qsMC72

Part of my research focuses on how fandoms can be engaged like religious audiences. This can be a great strategy or a liability if fans become too invested and engaged in parasocial relationships with creators/object. The discourse I’ve seen from some fans about #HeatedRivalry is verging on that.

We have come a long way for LGBTQ representation in media! I remember watching that Ellen show and how scandalous that coming out episode was portrayed as in the 90s. Now #heatedrivalry is the top show on @hbomax.bsky.social (it helps that it’s a well-made show!)

This is a pretty good assessment of how this press secretary actually exacerbates potential crises. #crisiscommunications
An important part of the job for any WH Press Secretary is to clean up remarks made by the president or offer explanation/context or apology when warranted. But Leavitt never does that. She always crafts a response that makes it even worse by adding her own toxic twist.

I’m looking at a specific paper mill in India. So far, I have detected 339 papers, 105 of which were published in 2025. Only the biggest publishers are being targeted. Only two papers have been retracted.
