Can a man not have his theocratic father effectively assassinated and then use the military to seize control and power, instilling a Republic situating myself as the highest authority whilst pretending that I do not want it and then using that power to enact reforms still controlling the military?
funniest bit in heavensward patches is aymeric being like IT WAS NOT A COUP D'ÉTAT and then a little later on being like alright it was a little smidge of a coup. like just a tiny bit.

Fordola feels like an anomaly in the writing of XIV. Antagonist woman whose antagonism isn't in any way tied to her being a woman. Has actual long-lasting friction on both a personal and broad level that doesn't get discarded the moment a main character wants to be friends. I miss Fordola.

Nunsense continues. This one actually has two pages, but the joke gets across with one. One of my biggest pet peeves in these sort of movies has been the upside down cross: The symbol of humility. Yes. Super scary.

It's all "I want WOL to get hurt more" until it happens in a way that's cool and interesting and actually questions/confronts WOL's agency, then it's an affront to the MSQ and "unsafe" for players. See also: the 4.0 scripted Zenos fights, In from the Cold, literally anything to do with Ilberd,

it is so insane to see the current patches talk abt a populace radicalized by their avoidance of difficult subjects. and then watch the fandom & the story continuously tip toe into perfect resolutions so no nations are in conflict, no innocent person suffers from tempering, aether sickness, etc, etc
