Finally started the process at my dayjob so that I can work from home. I don't know much longer until I can sleep in an extra hour, but I'm looking forward to it. I can't wait until I don't have to get up double early because of a Midwest snowstorm. The disadvantage of being an essential worker.

I come from a family with several military members. My brother served. My father and uncles fought in Vietnam. My grandfather fought in WW2. The shit that is happening lately should scare the shit out of all of you, but no one seems to care.

Yesterday, a coworker asked me if I was taking the stairs because it was National Take The Stairs Day. No, I take the 8 flights of stairs daily to combat the rampant heart disease that runs in my family. I'm nearing 47. It's time to worry about these things.

Coworker asked if I got any tattoos for Xmas. I haven't been tattooed since 2014. I've actually been through 4 laser removal sessions, which are 1000x more painful. So no, I'll probably never get another tattoo as long as I live.

When you're an essential worker, there are no holidays, even when all of the doctor's offices and insurance companies are closed due to the holiday and I can't do my job, still have to be at work. Great logic.
