Love this series and this book. And I can not tell you how many times I’ve read the last few chapters of The Secret Room for joy and comfort. My heart. You nailed it.

🎁 The next is by one of my fave mystery writers. The London set Maeve Kerrigan series by @janecasey.bsky.social is kind of like Tana French’s Dublin Murder series with more chemistry and snark. And the Secret Room delivers two deviously impossible scenarios. So much fun.

Regina Black is magic. I adore her new romance AUGUST LANE about love and Black influence in country music. I was mad at her hero Luke Randall and his creator before I hit Page 1 (with good reason). And then, I fell deeply in love. Please give this a try: apps.npr.org/best-books/#...

Like an Edwardian Succession, this stylish gothic romp centers a nest of fortune-hunting vipers vying to inherit a fortune. But this is a novel by the phenomenal @kjcharleswriter.com so it’s also stylish and sexy. Fun fun fun. apps.npr.org/best-books/#...

I contributed multiple entries about my favorite books across genres to the Books We Love again this year. Top of the heap was The White Hot by Quiara Hudes. apps.npr.org/best-books/#...

She goes full court press on independence (genuine or not). And after all that drops out?

Most def passive aggressive. The idea of multiculturalism and Zohran being named after an African leader, is antithetical to Trump’s worldview and value system. It’s his name but isn’t legitimate or even real to DJT. It just can’t be.
