And we have a settlement. At least the addition of “evergreen” charters will be in a new charter agreement sent to teams to sign. Wonder where all those people over the last couple years who argued with me when I said any updates to the charters would be for all teams are.

Ah, I misread the "You're not a liability..." as "If you're not a liability..."

It's not just the teams though. The whole Super License system exists so that the FIA doesn't have to say no. They can just tap the sign. And then, there's risk that talented driver skips the ladder straight to F1 which reduces the money the FIA is making on the ladder.

NASCAR's strategy in this case seems to be, "People still want to get involved in the sport, so how bad can we actually be?" Which is a pretty amazing argument, which led to Kesseler asking and retracting whether the teams should just trust Jim France to be a benevolent dictator.

Well for 20 years NASCAR officials have been telling us the sport that they run is boring, so... take from that what you will.

I like it too. My brother has had two Mavericks because his first one got totaled seven months in. After having waited nine months for it. But that he went right back to it is telling.

Fun fact: I believe the Maverick is exactly as small as its fuel economy allows it to be under CAFE standards.

The Race Teams Alliance determining that it's impossible to launch a rival series because of track contracts should illustrate to IndyCar fans just what a box they are in when it comes to expansion and adding races at more tracks.

The IndyCar FOX deal being $8 million is crazy. But it also illustrates the penalty that you take to put everything on network TV.
