A geeky individual, passionate about books, TV and the fantastical. Has an active imagination and a liking for history (especially in podcasts). Does environmental campaigning sometimes. One half of @dtdiscworld.bsky.social podcast. Probably tired. She/Her
Written a haiku about James II, writing one about Mary of Modena, mother of the "bedpan" baby. I do this sometimes. When exiled I think she was liked in French court, but of him someone said "when you listen to him, you understand why they are here." All the charm went to his older brother it seems.

I have never read this book. I did used to read applications of people applying to study Geography at university a few years ago, and that made me feel like I'd read parts of it.

It was fun, and we now have a lot of free samples and gluten free bread. So if needed we are well equipped to eat our feelings.

Yeah, I was doing something like that for a while as a teenager. Of course now I'm an adult, life feels all busy, but I should probably try recording stuff a least a bit more.

That's fair enough, your thread just made me think of that post, not thought of it in ages. I tried doing that on the bus for a while. I had a quick look at the archives, but yeah, prolific. I feel like the advice was aimed at a younger person & was part of a wider thing. Will look again later.

So @captainawkward.bsky.social had a post advising cultivating positive feelings towards others. The part I remember is seeing strangers when out & about and thinking about what seems cool/nice about them, what would you compliment. Afraid I can't find the specific post.

Northfield, on the high street. I had to check it to see it was about Leeds. I mean I'd have to go to town to get to Leeds, at which point our market is right there.

In my Birmingham suburb there was an ad for Leeds Christmas market, nothing about why I might want to go to Leeds specifically, just that they have a Christmas market.

My kid's at primary school. We found out t'other week that they use the same system for emergency pick ups due to the school closing, as they do for 'your kid has a point' 'here's info for a different class/year/club' 'hey did you know about this local thing'. So we gotta keep checking all the time
