Is this a thing people think? That asking WTF you are talking about when you can't string together words to actually say what you mean makes others autistic? No, friend, it makes you an inarticulate dope.

Salk's act was altruism. A better example is WWI: the US nationalized Marconi's patents and assigned to GE to ensure unified military communications. This led to the NBC networks monopoly that was later broken up to restore competition. Socialism is an essential part of healthy government.

Only 9? Nonsense. Linux is superior in every way but one: market dominance resulting from anti-competitive practices in the early days. That's about to change, though, now that nations have recognized the resulting cyber threat that dominance poses.

Let's see how many of you know this one: "They say of the Acropolis where the Parthenon is..."

When Neil Armstrong flew to space on Gemini 8, plate tectonics was not widely accepted, but when he landed on the Moon three years later, it was mainstream consensus.

3I/Atlas's nickel suggests it’s a fragment of a differentiated body. Warming, CO vents over nickel grains at the temperatures and pressures to form nickel carbonyl—basically the Mond process in space. Not alien tech, just natural metallurgy from a shattered protoplanet.

Actually, "The Cold Embrace" is my 9th for the Baen award sold to Analog. I wrote 10 for the contest & all sold to pro markets. One went to Galaxy's Edge. The rest to @analogsf.bsky.social, though one missed the contest due to schedule conflicts.

"The Cold Embrace" is my 8th story written for the Jim Baen award and ultimately sold to Trevor. It'll be my 11th story in @analogsf.bsky.social

When a story sells, I always reread for errors to flag in the galleys—my little ritual of disbelief.

This time it’s "The Cold Embrace", coming soon in @analogsf.bsky.social!

Cold War secrets, cosmic isolation, and the human heart beneath the machinery.

Things are tough for a lot of people, but ignore the TikTok apocalyptism. A big part of the problem is that since Reagan, economist pay too much attention to market value and too little to the state or ordinary people. Still, this is NOT a depression, not yet.

As a Cold War Air Force brat, I saw workplace integration at the BX, commissary, barber's & library, & thought nothing of seeing it on Star Trek. And for that, I am eternally grateful.
