My liberal peers are chasing down false rumors of low movie ticket sales and Oval Office sharts while the open wounds of DOGE continue to bleed silently in the background, friends give up on healthcare, and our global allies are abandoning us. Catch your snap! Participate in midterms.

Welp, looks like Europe is staying the course on that whole "liberal democracies working together thing." I think we're getting the "bye Felicia." I can't blame them. Hopefully, we can prepare some flowers and chocolates and ask her back in a few years. Heck, even a booty call and see how it goes?

The Trump administration is simultaneously stopping action and research on climate while also claiming a heating planet makes the acquisition of Greenland a more pressing issue because new Arctic shipping lanes for Russia and China are opening in the melting ice. So is it a real threat or not?

If a heavy metal anthem is the soundtrack to storming the gates, then this plays alongside the assassin as she slinks up the tower stairwell on the way to depose the king. This is a jaw-dropping modern masterpiece and a scary-good performance. Play it like metal.

This piece from the NYTimes is one of the most comprehensive edits of the insurrection at the US Capitol I’ve seen. It brings clarity and situational awareness to the unfolding event, placing isolated clips that are familiar to us into a wider context of time and place.

1/4 On the anniversary of January 6th, and not long after prosecutor Jack Smith's December 2025 testimony that he and a grand jury believed Donald J. Trump could easily, beyond a reasonable doubt, be prosecuted for crimes around the 2020 election, I am reposting this:

Jack Smith's testimony has been released. Cued up in his statement (9:35-10:30) Smith says:

"Our investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 election and to prevent the lawful transfer of power."

OK, so that's it now. 2026 is officially open season on unfair gerrymandering. Open the gates. Law of the jungle. My fellow Dems will now also increase unfairness in order to defend from the onslaught of GOP unfairness. It did not have to be this way. I'd rather it wasn't.

Re: Georgia case.

Before it is forgotten to revisionist history, I want to share this hour-and-a-half synopsis video of the January 6th hearings. It is damning in a deep and comprehensive way, especially considering the majority of witnesses giving testimony are dyed-in-the-wool conservatives.

Understand, this is not about some free-market philosophical purity for non-planet-heating energy. This is now about a purposeful targeting of non-planet-heating energy. It is an attempted assassination of the great energy transition and our attempt to curb the rise of global warming.
