GC is mainly just annoying in its potential for random hitches if you don't limit it.

That's the point of the garbage collector to remove cyclical objects that reference counting alone can't remove.

You can already do that with SteamVR Theater mode or at least used to. Haven't used it in almost a decade 😅

They come up with the weirdest brand names sometimes for these cheap products sometimes that I figured while you can find the same item likely not branded the same 😅
November 13, 2025 at 12:12 PM
Hah okay good. I was correct on that 😅

For some reason I was thinking you weren't located in the US.

Here's the one I currently use which likely not much use for you, but you can search Quest link cable with charging. Ton of different ones out there.

Looked it up as was curious on the timing and supposedly 0.3ms of a frame so at 72Hz that's a little over 2% of the time so if it wasn't strobing it would be like suddenly fifty times brighter.
November 13, 2025 at 5:10 AM
If for some reason the Quest was no longer blanking the backlight in-between frames then the perceived brightness is much brighter. The backlight is actually on for a fairly short fraction of every frame.

You need to get a third party cable that has a box on it that allows you to connect the charger into it. Your computer likely doesn't provide PD at the level a Quest headset needs.

The quote in question.

That time I was writing a feature about toilets for PC Gamer and used investigative journalism to find out why there was a raw potato in a toilet in BioShock Infinite.

That he is, I love his commentary to some reporter on the potato he put in a toilet in BioShock Infinite.

You and I know this but plenty of the large AAA companies prefer having lots of fresh developers over senior developers that they can chew through. They have been doing this for ages.

Hmm my Bosch seems better with the powder if using a prewash. I would suspect your water is hard.
November 4, 2025 at 9:46 PM
Yep, it's compiled differently based on your particular video card. Very annoying 🙁
November 4, 2025 at 9:34 PM
Valid reason.
