When 9/11 happened, and we started forming "Homeland" security and such - way back then I thought "maybe this actually will destroy the United States, basically a slow social virus was planted"

the whole thing is of course completely revolting. 20 YEARS to settlement for refugees? no settlement if you’ve ever had a criminal conviction or a tax debt? 10 YEARS added if you’ve ever received benefits? partners and children on their own routes to settlement? What are you even TALKING about

That subhead would have been a great and appropriate place to note that the 2025 jobs number was revised downward by 69% (nice) or that the jobs added in January 26 alone were equal to 73% of jobs added in all of 2025 but it is gauche and misguided to ask to know who writes these things
