One of my favourite places in our local city, the courtyard of 'the museum of the history of the Jews', a restored 14th building containing a synagogue and school/hospital, with the entrance to the mikveh at the top-right corner.

A town 40 minutes away by car which we'd been to several times over the years, but whose old quarter we'd never visited. I'm often surprised by the standing history that surrounds me here, cultural wealth I'd somehow managed to ignore for so long.

According to this study, avoidable deaths are way up all over the US, and not just with infections as a cause. All of them are up. You're right that it's surprising this isn't bigger news:

Difficult to believe that 49% of twitter users don't endorse violence, even if their endorsement is by omission. Do they not endorse Ukraine's fight against Russia, for example?
