Sharing this book from University of Michigan Press. It is an interesting approach to the development of AI. Excited to read this in the next few days.

The book is on open access and free to download.

Found a way to turn it off but it will lump all your emails in one inbox:

1. Go to settings (the gear icon on top right)
2. Scroll down and find "smart features on gmail, chat and meet". Untick the box beside it.
Gmail can read your emails and attachments to train its AI, unless you opt out
A new Gmail update may allow Google to use your private messages and attachments for AI training. Here's how to turn it off.

Read that Cloudflare is down. I am wondering who is getting the blame this time?

A. The newly hired intern
B. DNS
C. Lava lamps
D. AI

Felt rebellious to change my default home page to Wikipedia. At least, there is no AI slop there, just human-made articles worth reading and create new rabbit holes with.

Seeing too much AI slop, especially in social media platforms like Facebook, I have to restrict my time spent there. This allows me to refresh myself and would interact with real, human-made media like my personal library of books, music and even toys.

It is mentally draining to see AI slop making rounds in the internet, more than the authentic works of real humans. This is why I believe that generative AI should not have been deployed to the consumers. There is no good use case for it, only bad actors will benefit.

I like how Steam came up with the Steam machine. Interested to see its performance reviews soon.

It's an ideal use case for me, as a long-time Steam user. It solves the need for another PC upgrade and the form factor is minimal too - which I really also like.

Scammer's hub. The problem with Meta and its severe lack of technological vision.
Meta is earning a fortune on a deluge of fraudulent ads, documents show
Meta projected 10% of its 2024 revenue would come from ads for scams and banned goods, and it internally estimates that its platforms show users 15 billion scam ads a day, company documents show.

As a fellow millennial, I am happy to see Zohran Mamdani win the NYC mayoral race. The millennials and older Gen Z's are sooo ready for leadership. We are all ready. We know what to do in this world that has been failed by old frameworks that doesn't really work for everyone.

Is AWS down again for some reason? Was working on a cloud based school work (assignments included) and had difficulties making the Jupyter notebooks access the dataset that I intend to work on.

I am looking forward to read this one.
The top three things Jesus was on about were feeding the hungry, healing the sick, and welcoming the stranger. Rich men have convinced so-called Christians to starve the hungry, gut health care, and deport the stranger to enrich themselves. It’s astoundingly anti-Christ.

Our team has come up with a semi-functional prototype of Team ExoStar's web application - ExoGuessr which uses AI / ML models to help us identify potential exoplanets in Keppler, TESS and K2 datasets.

I should learn this to strengthen my logical / procedural thinking. This is a good idea.
I know #VisualScripting sparks strong opinions — but as a hobby dev without a technical background, it’s been the perfect entry point to bring my game ideas to life.
Do you think I should still dive into C#?
