Was speaking with my therapist the other day and I realised that even if 5-year-old Alex had the language to express she was trans, there's no-one she would have felt comfortable telling.
I found that pretty sad. Create safe spaces for kids to be who they are.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.
It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Are international laws/treaties worth the paper they're written on?
I've been reading a lot of them recently (UNCRPD, UDHR, ECHR) and the amount of violations that happen every day is staggering. And neither the UN or Council of Europe have any authority to enforce it.
