Seen tonight on Long Island. IMO this is what the airport and many Link stops should look like. NORTH. SOUTH. To Seattle. To Tacoma (eventually). Etc. The end of the line is a detail (that often doesn’t matter because of transfer opportunities or when someone is getting off!).

It ended up being a 5 Act show… and an unhappy ending. #seakraken
Three acts, two intermissions. We’re hoping for some light drama and a happy ending. No comedy of errors please!!

Catching one more show for our NYC weekend, a matinee.

It’s actually an improv troupe from back home doing a tour on the east coast!! I love a good unscripted drama.

Really important to stress that the Crown Jewels of the US higher education system were never the Ivies or elite SLACs (other countries have equivalents of these) but the well-funded, large, cheap, and excellently staffed public state university systems bringing high quality education to the masses.
One of the bragging rights that the US ed system had in the 20th century is that we didn't have education tracks. Essentially, any kid could go to a CC or state school & major in whatever they wanted to (obviously an oversimplification). I fear this aspect of the American dream is dying.

It seems like this show won’t have any conflict or be political at all… just a nice show about a simple game.

Absolute disaster of station naming and wayfinding…

Can’t wait for us to have to rename both of these soon.
I do think something on this sign should tell you which direction to stand on to catch a train to downtown Seattle.
November 22, 2025 at 10:39 PM
Typical car costs get you ~300 transit trips a month. BUT, if you commit to the monthly transit pass you save $900 a month over the car. That can buy a lot of rideshare.
i wonder how much of Americans' views on driving vs. transit would change if they had to pay for gas/insurance/etc every time they turned on the engine

"i'm not paying $5 to take the train to work twice a day when i can just drive" is a genuine opinion held by so many people

So, Pike Place pedestrianization is over? What the fuck @pikeplacemarket.bsky.social?

We should be leading this chart, but entrenched power is preventing it. Folks who produce energy don’t want change and it’s going to set us back a generation.
Solar capacity is expected to triple based on new projects in the pipeline.

Total global solar capacity, including all projects in construction and planned, is expected to reach almost 3 terawatts, with 80% concentrated in just 15 countries.

Weird how we don’t call farmers welfare queens.

They keep voting to lose their markers so they can get welfare from the government.

We use the word “bailout” but it’s the same shit.

Insane but true fact: making US roads as safe as Canadian, Australian, or European roads would save more lives than eliminating murder from the US.

Wow, think how bad those files are if he’s going here to distract.
The Coast Guard will no longer classify swastikas and nooses as hate symbols.

This action, coupled with the President's call to hang Democratic members of Congress - both in the past few hrs - are more than "potentially divisive."

They are vile, unconscionable, and dangerous.

Hello city like place. You feel so congestion priced and lovely.
November 20, 2025 at 11:15 PM
It’s a geometry problem folks. The cars don’t fit.

And that’s ok. Some of us can live in the city and walk, bike, train, and bus. Some of us can live in the suburbs and train and bus (and drive there I guess) And then there are the exurbs…. Those folks are f*cked.
Hell yes. Mayor-elect Wilson: We need to make it possible for more people to live in this city without owning a car. Not just for people who don’t own cars. As more people move to Seattle, we have limited space. It’s just not possible to keep adding cars to the road. publicola.com/2025/11/20/s...
