I didn’t have something in mind for an author photo that I’d always dreamed of. I’ve been so focused on editing, querying, editing some more, submission, editing AGAIN…that I kind of overlooked the other parts of the process that happen after you become a debut author.

Over on my Instagram people voted for what they wanted to see in celebration of my debut reaching 100 adds on Goodreads…and the winner was the first vs final opening! So here’s my cringy opening compared to the final—and a few other variations that existed along the way.

And with that, the draft of my new YA romcom is done—phew! 92k words in a month (I mean, *close* to a month. Technically started 1/31 & February was short…but hey! Math is for my day job). My brain is a bit 🫠 but I’m happy to have it down on paper! 1/4
