It’s mad. I still remember how new the web was along with such nerdy about being able to connect to services using telnet, ftp, etc. Usenet was brilliant too.

Used to do this for a decade at companies and it was painful. WSL is a decent tool yet prefer to use Mac / Linux set up.

I much prefer to work in a terminal!

That’s the painful part. The security side of things is a must have. I wonder when macOS 15 will stop receiving updates.
