NHS GP Federation CEO. Not a GP/clinician.

Ex artillery forward observer, with dodgy knees and hearing.

Favourite comment about me: "His comms style is like a brick through a window."
A few months ago I bought a box of cinnamon stick packs rather than a pack of cinnamon sticks. Distributed to friends who also use them as we'd otherwise be using them for decades.

First multiple recalls that obviously failed.

Then nearly half a day of HR blustering at me about opening emails that were not for me. It had my name on it, why wouldn't I open it?

Then my peer manager's face when told.

It wasn't a horror for me, but it was for a whole pile of other folk.

No, not typical I think, but it is the right thing to do. I agree with Steve’s thread and the underlying premise that it’s not good enough just to do things, you have to do the right things in the right way for the whole system.

I have an outstanding offer of a really nice box of biscuits for any NHS provider who does better and is willing to show us how.

Completely agree with your thread.

For example, we focus on intervention stats for much of our urgent care work. Our respiratory hub in winter typically operates at 97% intervention where people have no further urgent GP, 111, UTC, or ED appts in a week, and the 3% is mainly safety netting.

Isn’t it a stalling point until they can agree who is senior enough to be thrown under the bus to pacify the government, but not senior or liked enough that the really senior people will miss?

At this time, I would not recommend that any of my international friends move to the UK. The UK is moving to a "use you, abuse you, then kick you out when you're used up" mindset on foreign folk.

Oh, and they also even charge above inflation interest rates to make it even more of a Scrooge move that just devalues the student into a retrospective bit of jealous ladder pulling from the government.
