NHS GP Federation CEO. Not a GP/clinician.

Ex artillery forward observer, with dodgy knees and hearing.

Favourite comment about me: "His comms style is like a brick through a window."
Which album had the biggest influence on you as a teenager?

Probably this.

Car MOT done, passed first time as always, will take it past its 20th year. Why would I want anything else?!
November 24, 2025 at 2:49 PM
Well, that’s interesting. Lowest BP seen in years. And at the end of a working day as well.

Just got home and it started snowing. Come on Suffolk, this is just not on. If I wanted snow in November I’d move back to Scotland.

Last holiday pic. Each evening they had a piper go round the lobby, lobby bar and front area. And then you got a free whisky from the folk who followed him.

One of the real pleasures of our trip to India was a 24hr trip to Agra, including a sunrise 4hr tour of the Taj Mahal.

It was spectactular. You just cannot experience it properly through pictures. I would recommend it to everyone to make time to get there if possible.

Ahh, back to work on a lovely sunny day. I think someone forgot to put 50p in the meter for the heating though.

And home. 17 days in India with my wife visiting her family and trying to have some downtime.

I’ll post some pics when I get time, but here’s a taster of a 24hr trip to Agra.

First ever 1* Uber rating given. If I could give 0* I would have.

Of course my rating remains 5*

“We missed you, Chris - come back to Labour”.

Hmmm. Not a good start.

But, no anyway. Not until I see convincing and repeated evidence of:

- the end of the appeasement of racists and xenophobes; and
- the end of the scapegoating of people on benefits.

I was just about to send someone a message on WhatsApp then I saw this as their profile pic. A bit annoyed that I didn't think of that... Adopting that for when I'm off next.

Flu vaccination done.

Isn’t this a lovely autumnal day?

For reasons... I had to search for Matt Hancock. This was the first result that popped.

And here's me thinking buying politicians was something you were supposed to try to do in private. @hpiandycowper.bsky.social

I'm supposed to be getting something delivered today. Company gave me a choice of Royal Mail 24hr parcel, or one of the courier companies.

I chose Royal Mail. RM sent me an email with a delivery window.

The window expired an hour ago and the tracking says it's still at the Chelmsford hub.

Well... this is the first time in way, way over a decade that my BP reading has anything like "normal" written on it.

And this is a typical NHS morning as well inbetween meetings.

I saw this yesterday and it stuck in my head. Completely changed how I read the paper this morning.

e.g. all from The Times

No. No. No. And no.
October 16, 2025 at 8:37 AM
No, work OneDrive, I don’t think I will.

Talking to someone this lunchtime about an upcoming holiday and I was asked what I want to do when away. This immediately came to mind

My GP wants me doing in-work blood pressure tests to see what it shows.

This is my lowest BP reading for systolic in YEARS, and I took it right in the middle of an ops meeting where we were talking about system changes. A fair test of workplace BP!

If you were to read this news search result from DuckDuckGo, you'd think you were clicking on a BBC story. No... it diverts you to MSN.

Now, that's one way to learn distrust of a search engine and dislike MSN even more.

This pigeon sums up today nicely. A cold, wet day that many of us are just not mentally prepared for yet.

Persephone is, of course, supporting England.

Suuuuure it’s the “left” who is at fault for destroying all the previous immigration checks and balances in the last decade. “Giving communities back control” is approval for local racists to go beyond waving flags.

The nature of this appeasement of the racist right by Labour is beyond shameful.

Nothing says more about strong comms to a target audience than sticking it behind a paywall in the media source least likely to be read by Labour voters.
