Aisling leans towards street. She and Firinne have been through multiple traumatic experiences, including being experimented on by members of an extremist hate group and being forced to leave their home Realm. She has a rebellious streak and a strong distrust of authority.

Alba leans towards book. He's a sheltered but well-intentioned noble who's been told what to do for most of his life. While he's started to break out of his father's shadow and tries to use his political skills to help others, he may not survive for long enough to make a real impact... 😅.

Gyoku (Jade Scorpion) is both. He was invited to join the Kurosawa Royal Family based on merit and runs two of Os's major divisions (most of his "siblings" run one at most).

He has centuries of experience dealing with all kinds of crimes and successfully cracked down on corruption in his Realm.

Makoto/Xinyi is both, but leans more towards book. He doesn't have Yao's extensive experience with politics but is skilled enough at manipulation to stay off Jade Scorpion's hit list (for now). He's also managed to hide his powers/true capabilities from pretty much everyone around him.

Full color digital art illustration with a detailed background (actually a comic page) from my Out of Memory webcomic. It is a dark fantasy and horror comic (with a tiny slice of sci-fi) about a pacifistic warrior and his journey to find the truth about his family. The drawing depicts the morally ambiguous character "Yaoshe Baiqiao" (aka. "Yao") sitting leisurely in a traditional Chinese-style room. He is an influential politician and schemer who appears to be allied with the main protagonist. He is an elegant bishie (pretty boy) who appears to be in his late twenties or early thirties, with long, curly medium purple hair that extends past his shoulders and pink eyes with white pupils. He is wearing an elaborate red and purple outfit that resembles traditional Chinese hanfu and is holding a pipe that is shaped like a serpent's head in his right hand. Yao’s outfit is extremely expensive and is decorated with a good amount of gold and gemstones. His boots and sash are especially elaborate and have large, teardrop-shaped rubies embedded in them. It features Kurosawa Makoto (黒澤 誠, "sincere black marsh") / Zhen Xinyi (真 心意, multiple meanings), one of the main protagonists in Out of Memory, facing off against one of the main antagonists, Baiqiao Yaoshe (白橋 妖蛇, “demonic snake of the white bridge”). A warrior with reality-warping powers, Xinyi is a pacifist who sees violence as a last resort. Yao, on the other hand, is a charming and manipulative prince who can be ruthless towards his enemies. Xinyi and Yao have a complex relationship that departs from the standard hero - villain dynamic. Illustration of the Ardiente Royal Palace, an intricate white castle that sits at the pinnacle of Heap. From the Out of Memory - Prologue. Princess Sheng Feng is shown falling from a great height, as the building she was hiding in is shown crumbling in the background. The brooch she wears at her waist emits a powerful light. Shortly after, a small white phoenix emerges from the brooch, and Sheng Feng reaches desperately for her. The phoenix grabs onto the back of Sheng Feng's collar, breaking her fall. They turn to face a large Chinese-style house, which has ominous wisps of smoke emanating from it.
