Long-suffering wife of Count Jackula. Queer, stubborn, officially too old for this shit and not about give up. I stay up late and rant about horror movies sometimes.

Don't let them get away with calling it alligator Alcatraz. It's not a prison, it's a concentration camp. It should be called alligator Auschwitz.

And for anyone who thinks that becoming a weird cannibal cult in the desert is an appropriate response to the world's encroaching technofascism... I mean, okay, that's not entirely an irrational response, but FFS, eat the rich, not other poor folks. Know (and gnaw) the right enemy.

Anyway, meh, Brute 1976 falls far short of its lofty goals. It promised to take things to 11, but hits more of a 7 at best. I recommend rewatching the original The Hills Have Eyes instead, or if you want a retro take on 70s cinema, watch The Devil's Rejects or X.

I can't send people to Tubi to watch this they only have the censored version too - which, considering the things I've seen on Tubi this year (Match, I'm looking at you) makes no sense.

The censorship in particular sticks in my craw - it dropped me right out of the movie and pissed me off. In a movie with acting this lethargic and dialogue this... meh... the kills can make all the difference. But we get a pixel bar. Censorship sucks, so fucking stand by your guns, filmmakers.

Now, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is not actually that bloody a movie either, but given all the ad copy about Brute 1976's brutality, it's a disappointment here. So is the crossdressing genderfluid killer, albeit sadly a staple of the genre. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgDj...

And by better pacing I mean an editor going over the film to cut down the time wasted for the next plot to happen, because a lot of scenes that are supposed to build suspense just build a sense of "get on with it," and also probably ADRing some of those bland line deliveries as well.

Clearly the big winner of KISS’s visit to the White House was Ace Frehley.

(My favorite & most talented member of the band)

It's rare to see a band so eager to sell each other out. But that's KISS for you. Part of rock history, but fucking shitty human beings, willing to sell out yet again.

Not to mention Peter Criss, also in his own words. www.villagevoice.com/kiss-drummer...
