💯 I had the misfortune to follow a ton of government accounts back in the (saner) day, so I don't get on for more than a second or two without seeing how far they've fallen.

Maybe, you can buy the same server from the original manufacturer with 3-5 years of support, etc. or somebody with a high seller rating on ebay with no support and hope for the best. If price is your only concern, fine. If not, you're violating the "all things being equal" clause in a big way.

Short of holding down the "factory reset" button on the country, I'm not sure what would be enough. We've proven that our "system of checks and balances", the "rule of law", etc. don't mean diddly to large swathes of our electorate and even less to the oligarchs with their thumbs on the scales.
