Here’s a list of some extraordinary PDX mutuals responsible for boosting & supporting mutual aid groups, holding corrupt cops & politicians accountable, and exposing dark-money lobbyists who seek to interfere in our free & fair elections.

Portland: MAGA is going to be holding a second "patriot block party" at the ICE facility tonight & tomorrow.

There is the outside possibility that it could include Proud Boys.
MAGA is planning another "Patriot Weekend" at PDX ICE this Fri + Saturday. Last time this happened it got very very aggressive (see thread).

They are hinting at a "surprise" this time.

Yup!

I’m BEGGING liberals, centrists and moderates to PLEASE stop boosting Clinton, Harris and Newsom as the saviors of the Democratic Party.

They’re ALL Republican-lite, complicit in the genocide of Palestinians, and part of the very billionaire corporate apparatus that got us here in the first place.

Private equity firm Sycamore Partners bought Walgreens.

Now Walgreens has stopped giving most workers paid vacation on Thanksgiving, Christmas and other major holidays.

Private equity takeovers are a disaster for workers, and customers.

Just stop and think: We are sitting here, in November 2025, in the middle (or the beginning-middle) of a credible investigation into whether the president of the United States engaged in sex acts with underage girls.

Let that sink in. trib.al/EftXZVw

Once again, police literally get away with murder, because our (in)justice system routinely insulates cops from accountability. 👇🏾

Predictably, diehard MAGA has now moved the goalpost, arguing “what’s the big deal” about child grape.

There’s no redeeming these child predators without first imposing consequences.

And yet corporate centrists, like Gavin Newsom, want to platform & find “common ground” with these predators. 🫩

Homelessness is caused by profits-over-people policy failures, which are manufactured by lobbyists of greedy capitalists & their bought & paid for adjacent politicians.

Prioritize people over profits, and watch the humanitarian crisis of manufactured homelessness “magically” resolve itself.

I’ve spent years working as a community organizer in my neighborhood and it’s always the people who yell the loudest about the homeless who are the ones who are actually doing the vandalism and illegal dumping. Every single time.
First off, @councilormorillo.bsky.social has repeatedly stated that the budget ~WOULDN’T~ be cut.

Second, and most importantly, I REALLY need my fellow Portlanders to STOP blaming our unhoused neighbors for the trash issue.

I promise you, housed people have MASSIVELY contributed to this problem.👇🏾

There are four leaks to plug for Trump: the survivors, Ghislaine Maxwell, the Epstein Estate, and the 1000+ FBI and DoJ employees he locked in a building and forced to remove his name from the files.

Good luck, asshole.

Yep. Terrance Moses in Kenton who runs a nonprofit doing camp cleanup says a lot of it is construction junk from folks who charged their customers for hauling. Cleanups are better than sweeps.
Like, this is a damning indictment against every NIMBY in Portland, OR & Vancouver, WA attributing our trash problem with encampments.

Our unhoused neighbors are being blamed for the illegal dumping of housed people, because housed people don’t want to pay to dispose of their garbage properly. 👇🏾

and get this, the didn’t pay for it with TIF districts, tax credits, they paid for land and construction by taxing the rich with taxes on luxury goods and champagne. today they pay for all their housing with a 1% income tax (.5% from a worker contribution and .5% employer)

To those who say that I’m out of touch with the views of my district I say this: I ran for this seat to represent those who don’t get a voice. Who don’t have traditional access to power. You probably won’t hear their voices at a neighborhood association, but they still exist and I am their councilor

@mayorkwilson.bsky.social maybe you should stop propping up failed policies adjacent to the Trump regime’s plans for mass homeless internment camps?

Just a thought. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Boy, do I heavily regret endorsing you.
This is far worse than anyone expected.

Trump's HUD plan would cut *two-thirds* of permanent housing and push as many as 170,000 formerly homeless people back onto the street—redirecting funds to work mandates, forced treatment, and encampment sweeps.

All as mass internment camps are being built.

Ok, try to following along, because there’s a sequence to these events:

• People are camping outdoors, because they’re unhoused.

• People are unhoused, because the price of housing is artificially inflated, and subsequently unaffordable.

• People can’t afford housing, because wages are stagnant.

We know the solutions for the #HousingCrisis

We need NIMBY’s and greedy rich people to get out of the way.
You wanna solve homelessness?

• Invest in low-barrier of entry social housing.

• Invest in support services.

• Provide M4A.

• Provide UBI.

• Raise the minimum wage to $25-$35/hr, and tether it to inflation.

• Provide rental assistance.

TaDa! 💁🏽‍♂️
November 13, 2025 at 5:12 PM
The reason so many NIMBYs are against social housing, is because they literally don’t want it in their neighborhoods, because they’re terrified it’ll devalue their properties.

It’s literally greed.

Humanitarian crisis be damned, won’t you think about their investments? 😭
So this is a common topic of argument for NIMBYs & corporatists who are against social housing; that Utah’s social housing experiment failed.

Except it didn’t fail.

It succeeded, by reducing homelessness by upwards of 90%+

The reason it “failed” was because they stopped funding it.

Causality. 🤷🏽‍♂️
The data doesn't hold up. Latest examples are SLC and Utah not working either though for a time it looked like Housing First did work for them. Multnomah County has followed this for 10 years. Do you think it is working?
